Yes, and if you are overheight the light-up board will tell you to divert. Often this can be set off with an in-height trailer if the roof is flapping around a bit.

In a previous life I regularly ran through northbound at 13’ 6".
The flashy lights came on but I didn’t ring the clangy things.

really? i go thru there regular with a 15"3’ trailer and have never set it off.
The northbound height is 4metres, i have been thru it on numerous occasions when running continental spec motors, them big beams hanging down in the fast lane get a bit close but you dont hit them. A lot of the Dutch fridge motors go thru it regular when doing the markets.
I’m not keen on heading northbound in it, never had a problem yet but I always seem to need quite a lot of the right hand lane.

Never set it off South and never been through it North - always been too high and not daft enough to go near it.
