Bit of Tech help needed

Bought a wifi hotspot jobbie to take out on the road with me.

Alcatel Y800 on EE (not that it matters) good bit of kit, but the battery is pretty useless. Would anyone have any idea where I could get an extra docking unit for it? Nothing on eBay, and the Alcatel site is pretty hopeless.

Don’t need any leads or anything, just the actual base.

Amazon have a spare battery for the Y800, can you just keep the extra one charged?

Bought a non original battery for a mobile once, destroyed the phone

It’d be much easier to leave a dock on the dash and stick the unit into that

You could just get one of the USB connections that plugs into the ■■■ lighter and charge it that way.

It’s got a weird connector from the dock to the bottom of the unit. Motor is USB’d up to the nines. Satnav, tablet, phone, dab radio etc.

Once again I have been proved to be a knob. God knows what those 2 pins are on the base. Turns out that a normal USB lead will charge it. My bad. Sorry for wasting your time gents

 same as myself, my stralis has got four 12v sockets and I could use more :open_mouth:

Get some of those double USB plugs off eBay, or buy a 4 way. I must admit I could use more sockets in the wagon than I use in the house. Just keep my phone topped up to make sure it wakes me.

Even if the battery is down to 1 bar and you turn the phone off when you go bed, it will still wake you.

That might work for some phones but for the 2 I just tried it does not, once turned off nothing works.

Won’t work with any smartphone.

Well you live & learn. I didn’t know that, but then again I’ve never had a smart phone - yet.

I assume you guys have tested this by setting an alarm for just a minute or 2 ahead then turning off the phone & seeing what happens?
