Bit of a sticky situation

Aye Jimmy I dont doubt the call will surface again for the long awaited BYPASS but I came here as a young lad sixty years ago and it was being called for then in fact it’s been planned to follow the line of the back road the other side of the river and bypass both Kirkconnel and Sanquhar but thats as far as it ever got or will get eh. Eddie.

Note to all ISOTracked drivers, harsh braking on that road will now be much more common.

Feel sorry for the driver in this one. He made a mistake, either too much speed, or too much brakes and now he is all over the net and the local news. It really isn’t fair the way that even a small mistake by one of us gets splashed all over the news but when the bankers make a mistake, they get away with it until the USA decides to get uppity.

Eddie, one of our lads was at the tile factory when this happened, couldnt get back on to the main road, poor bugger had to go the back road way around to get back towards Mennock. Glad it wasnt my turn to go up.

Police are advising drivers to stick to the diversion.

Do you think the Ramage driver was following his gaffers instructions to stick to the A roads?:-?

Aye Mark I saw Rawsons who normally tips and then parks up for the day before reloading he was parked up out at the other factory so he obviously had’ny been able to get down. There’s a black BMW parked in at the front door of the house as you turn the corner to go down to the factory what a mess the glue must have been spewing out as the trailer went past and the car is covered in it I came past this morning and it is still sticky to touch I dont know how they will get it cleaned
and their gravel and door steps are covered as well, I bet it’s a fair old insurance claim by the time it all gets sorted, Eddie

Will have to make sure I don`t make a mess when I go up Tuesday morning. Glue and limestone powder, now that would take some shifting.

I was in Egger last night and apparently it was as you said but it had set solid in the drains as well, wouldnt want to see the bill for that lot! as for the ADR side they wouldnt be working for Egger if they were not 100% legal Ramage have 2 motors on that job and work between Hexham and Achinleck all week i think it was 7 loads over 5 shifts if i remember getting told by one off there drivers [not this one!].

Since SOL/DHL Dumfries, (who previously did Egger work without any problems), closed and Egger work was contracted to other firms, there have been numerous ‘incidents’ such as rollovers on the A76 and now this latest incident with the resin trailer.

Someone, somewhere isn’t training drivers properly. Probably a cost thing. :unamused:

Maybe he should have taken a punctuation & grammar test before getting behind the wheel?

I would hazard a guess that he has hit the kerb, just before his jackknife the road pinches just enough to make it a bit tight for 2 trucks to pass and if the driver was distracted he could easily hit the kerb.

Bet our lads taking the glass upto glenn catrine bonded wherehouse had problems getting the loads there on time. ■■■■ road the A76 anyway especially around Sanquar

The trucks were being diverted to the M74 further south so they would have a bit extra mileage. Eddie.

i always go accross the the A70 and go through ■■■■■■■ if im on the glass anyway. find it a lot better road plus you are on the limiter more on the M74 than going across the A75 and up and down the A76.

Aye you keep your elbows in when you meet the coal boys on the A70 Yuill & Dodds,Anderson,T French etc. cut throat job been there and done it.Eddie.

a ErfGuy, whats the B740 like as a road suitable for artics? Occasionaly I get a reload at Sanquhar, but I don’t usually know it’s on till I get near Abington.

And another …

The B740 aint to bad, ive been down it myself with a 44t tanker, just watch out for some of the tipper brigade, they seem to treat it like the Nurburgring. It does get a bit narrow in places but nothing to worry about.

Eddie, will know better depending on how Monday goes, if I manage to load and run up part way on Monday it will be about 7am, if I have to load on Tuesday it will be about 1-2 pm.
I am easy to spot, mine truck is bleedin digustingly dirty and has my name plate in the window oh and a big England emblem on the interior back wall.
