It might be nothing but whilst paying for fuel today, I overheard a bit of conversation betwwen the cashiers.
It seems like there may be some major work going on and they were talking about the truck park being emptied.
Hopefully that means they are aiming to wash away all the urine that is so pungent there 
There was a big 20t + digger being unloaded by the autogas tank at the petrol station so that might be in for some work too.

I’ll second that, them bays are tight as a gnat’s valuable bits, especially when someone parks on the edge of the lorry park in front of you cos there are no bays left

i think the bays are wide enough already - hell you can almost open the door halfway when your parked up - try some of the ferry operators parking patterns, i’ve known drivers climb out of windows because they can’t get out of the door.

Johnny - you are right about the ferrys. The tightest one’s I’ve come across is on the P&O tub from Liverpool to Dublin, not content with having you reverse the entire length of the deck they then get you to park with just enough room to get a cat’s hair through
norse merchant form birkenhead it was company rules to shove as much in as you could on a crossing… they didnt like it when aircraft wings were sent over from belfast, and they would put all kinds of crap on too, drove allsorts from austin allergro, a series erf to bus chassis. it was an eyeopener working on them

Saw some huge great fat rats scampering about at Chester Services the other night, so the smell obviously doesn’t put them off either…
i always used to stop at birchanger for a shower its wasnt to bad then dont know what is like now though.

They are installing 45 extra truck parking places, doubling the parking for trucks.
They have also done the toilets up.
