Bin Lorries - Tacho Exempt?

All going well, I should be starting work for a week or two on the 16/03 driving a bin lorry for the council.

My question is, are they tacho exempt?

Door to door domestic collections yes, collections from commercial premises no.

sam i remember years ago there was a queue of people wanting one of them driving jobs, somebody had to die before you could get on the waiting list so " GET IN THERE WEE MAN". one piece of advice i would say is once you find out who the boss is make him take notice of you by any means whatsoever and you may get a full time job out of it.

Thats great news Sam , those snazzie cvs paid off then , plenty of reversing practice on the bins , go get em hope you get full time out of it , oh and dont forget when hoiking a bin bag into the back make sure you stand outa the way of anything runny :wink:

The lads who drive our bin lorry never leave the cab, although the lady who does it always mucks in with the lads and can swear like a trooper if anyone has parked on the corner… :laughing:
