Bin driver crash

The driver of the bin lorry that crashed in Glasgow killing six people has been banned from driving for three years.

Harry Clarke was also ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and will be tagged for four months.

At an earlier hearing Clarke, 60, admitted culpable and reckless driving nine months after the fatal crash.

He had his licence withdrawn for medical reasons following the bin lorry crash on 22 December 2014.

He pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to driving a car nine months later, despite knowing he was unfit to drive.

Clarke was not prosecuted over the bin lorry crash.

Clarke admitted driving a car on 20 September 2015 in the knowledge that he had suffered a loss of consciousness while at the wheel of a moving refuse collection vehicle the previous December.

The charge stated he also knew he had suffered a loss of consciousness or episode of altered awareness while at the wheel of a stationary bus on 7 April 2010.

They gave him a ban? Seriously? He drove after his license was revoked and they think telling him hes banned from driving will stop him getting behind the wheel?
Unbelievable
He doesnt care one bit that he killed six people. All his crocodile tears and his “I have no idea what happened” ■■■■■■■■ in the papers after the crash and he’s proven he doesnt give a ■■■■.

+1 well said snowman

Strange isn’t it, someone who causes an accident whilst on the phone and not concentrating goes to jail. Yet someone who blacks out due to a known pre-existing medical doesn’t. Whilst I wouldn’t want either following me down the road, I know which one I’d prefer…
