I have heard from 2 reliable sources that BIG WHEELERS LGV TRAINING has ceased trading.
I’ve tried to call them on their contact numbers but no answer.
Went to there office in Reading today Rog - sign on the door says locks changed and office empty so definately gone.
I wonder if thats another firm gone under due to the soaring price of fuel?
Very sad if it is these people had a good name as I remember
I’m from near that area and I did my training with REACT because they had newer trucks than Big Wheelers
My mate went for an assessment with BW and he said there was
“post it” notes on the dash saying aim here for 1st and so on, put me off a bit
Hmm, saw one of their trucks trundling about only a week or so ago.
I’m another one who went with REACT for HGV training, and as much as I hated the experience, I couldn’t fault them for professionalism and they have nice tidy motors (albeit Renault 
) and work hard to keep a good company image.
Big wheelers seemed to have a bad rep from the banter I heard, and their old dafs and rusty trailers, didn’t give off the best impression. Still regarded more highly than clearstone though, but I think REACT are the best in the area. Certainly would recommend them to others.
Disappointed however, as I recently emailed OCR about exam centres for the CPC Road Haulage, and big wheelers were the only place anywhere near me that I could sit the exams according to OCR.
They’ve been in a corporate voluntary arrangement since August last year.
They shouldn’t be confused with Big Wheelers North West LTD.
