Germany is the country i have spent least time in. Just got around to thinking, we have Stobart and France has Nobby. Who are the big fleets in Germany ?.
DHL are pretty big in Germany
K+N
DB Schenker and Ausfahrt
Wheel Nut:
DB Schenker and Ausfahrt
Ausfahrt … now they even have there own motorway signs !!
There all mainly freight forwarders aren’t they ?. Surely Germany must have some big hauliers as well.

Have you ever heard of Willi Betz?
LKW Walters, are they German ?

No,next door -they’re Austrian.
Nord - Sued is reasonably big as is Drude who have just been taken over K + N
Willi Betz are more likely German’s biggest International work not in national work
Nord - Sud
Wandt
Kieserling
Dachser
Duvenbeck - more international work
Hoyer
LOG IN
Rosner Spedition
Rinnen
A Offergeld
Kraftverkehr Nagel
Some of the big German players mentioned by Betz are these days basically running two fleets under the same company umbrella.
Internal work is carried out using German registered vehicles, whilst international work is undertaken using trucks registered in foreign climes, CZ, RO, PL et al, in the mother firm’s livery.
RTS (Roadrunner Transport Service) from Osnabrück, who do a lot of work to the UK, now only use their own tractor units on internals, international work being undertaken by a raggle taggle band of PL, LT, LV pulling their fridges

Now then Jim, not many people know this but, Ausfahrt is a large German city.
It’s quite well signposted and it’s that big that you can get to it by using any motorway exit.
HunCargo

I think they are German.
August Kühne and Friedrich Nagel founded the forwarding and commissioning business in 1890 in Bremen, Germany, concentrating on cotton and consolidated freight, and until the mid-twentieth century operated nearly exclusively in the seaports of Germany. In the early 50s, Alfred Kühne initiated the company’s international expansion, and first offices were opened in Canada, followed by the Benelux region, and soon thereafter the Middle East. As of the mid-1960s, Klaus-Michael Kühne - following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps - continued with the expansion of the company’s network and scope of services and products. Currently, Kuehne + Nagel bought the company Eichenberg & Transeich which has branches in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
The Group employs approximately 55,000 people in 900 offices distributed over more than 100 countries and has approx 7 million sqm of warehouse space under management worldwide
I would think as a national and international haulier, Hoyer will come fairly close to the top, you wont drive far without seeing a Hoyer tanker
There’s a firm with light green Volvos which they seem to use for their ‘normal’ loads to the UK.Abnormal load specialists, not in Stobart/Nobby/Betz territory but fairly big nonetheless. They do quite a lot of backloads from CAT ,but can’t for the life of me remember the name.Big Mercs and MANs also on the fleet and always look very well turned out.
