i dont mind a bit of handball keeps ya fit, but when your dragging ton pallets up gravel driveways and 15% slopes with a pump truck thats got square wheels and is older than you, it gets a bit tiring 13 hours into a shift day in day out, ill be crippled with back pains and joint pains by the time im 45, thats why its a good payer for class 2, but the artic lads get the same rate as us, but that jobs a doddle really is a dead mans shoes job
Don’t do it then Mug comes to mind
hence why im looking for a new job, but im not walking away till i get one muppet, ive got a family to feed, i could go tomorrow and do agency but its not really what i want, what i want is a reply with big firms that let you max out

All big firms iv worked for on general haulage expect you to max out if you like it or not…
what firms are they yorkshire, hear stories of empty promises from some firm only to rob ya overtime off you later on in the week/fortnight/month??
As Mr ginge says downtons would love you,not every ones cup of tea but when I worked there I was never short of hours in fact too many for me to be honest.
If your in liverpool they have a place in Runcorn.
but make sure you are on hourly pay not the rolling week salary contract
pick any driving job class 2 they will pay for you and train you to do your HIAB ticket, and Easly get paid £10ph Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 17:00 INC. 1hr lunch! 4 hrs on a sat morning once every 2 weeks. Small amount of handball (if you choose to!) the crane is there to do the work for you, its not hard and not rocket science, just do the job stick to the rules and get paid… not the most exciting jobs but gets me out diffrent places every day.

Stobarts. And in fairness, you can actually make a decent chunk there even if it does involve meal allowance, bonuses etc.[/quote
Yes they’d luv the o.p ,but God help him if he mentions he’s tired and needs a good night sleep, goes down like a lead ballon
Maxing hours is a mugs game 13/15 hour days on ■■■■ rates sitting in rdc and container terminals.
Get a job that requires some effort and a bit more than steering a lorry up a motorway earn more for less hours
Plugster:
hello all, getting a bit peed off in my job stuck on rigids and getting stabbed in the back by other drivers…
Well if you’re getting stabbed in the back by other drivers, why don’t you do what you threatened to do to someone else in another thread and put a balaclava on and “snap their jaws”?

because like most snakes in the grass they come at you with smiles, and then winge and snitch behind ya back
