Hi had an offer of work out of bidvest in larbert near falkirk, anyone worked out there? Is it ok?
Easy as, yard is a stupid layout but if you’ve been asked to do shunting that really means you’ll be working in the warehouse.
Been asked to do class 2 multi drop?

Like 3663 for the Sarf Afrikaans
What can I expect in terms of drops? Boy at agency said its likely to b a hard graft, not that I’m afraid of that
Bidvest (3663) - Taunton, was hard graft with max hours and if you didn’t know the route or got held up you ended up returning with an undelivered drop.
It’s all handball / breaking down pallets (which have often been badly loaded).
It gives you good experience though as some drops are into pedestrianised High Streets and rear loading bays.
Burger King / KFC were the most common drops 2 years ago with the odd pub. I think the pubs are now more common from what I read on another thread recently.
Good luck if you go for it.
And as someone else said, if you are shunting, you will also be loading up pallets and unloading trunk lorries / loading the rigids. (Hint - don’t tell them if you have a FLT certificate. It makes the day harder).

Never done it but have read the stories.
Hotel Kitchens, Cafes Shops and Hospitals. I think they expect the driver to put everything in the cupboards too, but don’t take my word for it, you may get a cup of tea from zb Gordon Ramsley
Thanks for replies guys, any idea of drops numbers?
I averaged 9-10 with frozen as well as fresh.
Different depots will have different work loads.
i was there with driver hire agency today, we basically got the drops left off of other loads.
my run was three drops, St Enoch’s centre…if you get that park up on the street that runs along the side of the river Clyde… there was a Roman Catholic church i stopped next to as it was a good landmark. i phoned the store and the manager for burger king came out and found me and guided me in… just as well there are no signs and you are driving into a loading area that is under the shopping centre… no signs to even tell you that you are in the right place or how to get to burger king… i had a long walk pulling three pallets to the lifts as well as a few dollys. that was half of my load.
next was the burger king at hillington industrial estate followed by pheonix retail park in linwood… did get some help moving stuff there from the store.
useful tips, have your own phone and proper maps… another guy had sat-nav and it failed on him as the socket in the truck wasnt working properly…so he said later on anyway.
hope this helps.
its a doddle the job is as hard or as easy as you make it yourself first week or so will be tough and you will prob be knackerd because it can be hard graft but once you work out your own way of doing things and get used to your routes like i said it will be a doddle
