Beware of Clamping at Lorry Park

< copied from a RHA email >

Somerfield Garage, Tothill Street, Minster, is just off the A299, and is situated on the outskirts of Ramsgate, Kent. The site has a large forecourt and service station.

To one side of the site off the forecourt there is a lorry park area. This area is separately managed from the forecourt and a charge of £25 has to be paid by mobile phone for ANY period of parking.

Taking two minutes to visit the shop in the service station is subject to the £25 charge. Clampers are waiting on site and require a £250 fine (+£5 card handling fee) to remove the clamp.

on the German site I am a member we have had a member who got caught out
he said the sign was not visible and no one said any thing, it is a disgrace that
when one wishes to stop any where , you worry that Capt Blackbeard will appear
and take you prisoner , what will they do when its a HAZ–ADR load then ■■?#
and can they clamp such a load as its a danger if a incident was to occur when
a clamp is fitted■■?

One of the guys where I have been working stopped for a sandwich and got clamped, had to get the Transport Managers credit card to get him out - and these lorries are NHS fleet, so they don’t care about anyone!!!
