Bestway cash&carry seems like a terrible racist place to work. The reviews are shocking.
How do they get away with it?

I did one day on agency a few years ago. There is a LOT of handball, and they send 18t rigids to places that would be tight in a 7.5t. I’ve done some crappy jobs that I put up with for one reason or another, but one day was more tham enough in that place!
And I’ve done one day on agency there in Birmingham on class 2.
Here’s my honest opinion. It’s hard work. It’s not glamorous. But I was given a drivers mate who was incredibly polite and helpful. He totally respected me. What I didn’t know was that he was also one of the managers. He never told me this - I only found out after when I asked how he could gift me stock.
At the end of my shift, I was given large a box of ferrero rocher as a thank you as I got stuck in and was happy to work with him. He also brought me a cold drink (without me asking) at the last drop - as it was hot in summer. When I asked him why he didn’t have one he explained it was Ramadan. So he knew I was suffering in the heat - he worked harder than me, and he wanted to do something kind even though he was also suffering. He was anything other than racist.
I’m not saying I’d go back there. But it’s nowhere near the worst place I’ve done a shift.
At least they have somewhere to turn around (every one I’ve been to has anyway). Trust me, they are at the top end of that sector.

Brislington? Top end? What are you compering with ?
And this is why all those posts asking about what’s it like working at XYZ company are pretty useless .If you have a good attitude and pull your finger out you will be liked , if you turn up hating the job before you’ve started you won’t.
Pretty simple really.
Being very lazy a handball job is not for me so would hate it and leave crap reviews.
As for racist ? The word is thrown about so often it’s lost it’s true meaning.
