Best work for double manning

Hi all what would others say is the best work to have 2 drivers on .

obliviolsy over the water is the better option but what about uk work looking for suggestions please

box’s
fridge
etc

Thanks in advance

got to be containers, mosts delivery points seem to be 24/7 and the docks are at least 6 days a week so plenty of hours to be worked, on the other hand the fridge boys seem to work some strange hours as well so there must be work there 24hrs a day

Sawyers Transport from NI will give you enough work to run 24/7 double manning on the reefers pulling their trailers, rates might not set the world on fire but cheap diesel available as your going for the boats in Eire!!! :sunglasses:

A couple of subbies I know run the truck themselves Sun/Thur(run out Sun back Tue,out Tue evening back Thur) then put a PT driver on it Thur/Sat for a run to England and back and clear 3000mile/week.

Does the OP mean ‘double manning’ as in two drivers per shift in the cab at the same or ‘double manning’ as in two drivers running a shift each which is actually ‘double shifting’?

First method - parcel work as long distance and back to base can be covered in a shift legally. Fridge work also good this way, dependant on the run.

Second method, containers no doubt, 12 hr shifts, two drivers working back to back with one truck.

Hi thanks for the replys as i orignaly thought fridges and box .

And to clarify 2 drivers same unit

thanks

S & J Pierce in Leighton Buzzard does double manning to Milan subbing for TNT. Not a bad job at all!
