I learned in a DAF CF and drive a Premium 460 6x2 now, so I don’t have a massive amount of experience but I would take the Renault over the DAF any day.

I would also like to find the swede responsible for that abomination of a gearbox and put his nuts through a garlic crusher. The only gearbox worse than the ā€œOptidriverā€ (one assumes its called that because any driver would Opti to use a manual over it) is the old EasyTronic in the Vauxhall Corsa.

Out of all the trucks I’ve driven I’d say the Renault has one of the best gearboxes around.

It’s indecisive, slow shifting and of the fifteen ratios in the box, the only ones that are properly balanced are the three backwards ones. 460hp should be plenty, the gearbox wastes the power in my opinion.

Give me a MANUAL.

Purely from a driving point of view it has to be Volvo for me.
There are others that have better living/storage space etc, but seat comfort, layout of controls and by far the best auto box on the market means I’m happiest with a Volvo.

Only motors I find constantly disappointing to drive are MAN.
I feel the same way about MAN’s as I do about Davina McCall…looks alright but becomes irritating very quickly.

Daf 105 ssc

No particular preference for any really. I’d like to take all the good elements of what i have driven and put them into one package. It’d have one long name though Scanivolvdafrenaumanerfodenseddatkimercivec! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not fussy, I’ll drive anything …so long as its got a wheel in each corner

Anything I can stand up in…Easily pleased really…
