This isn’t my intention, but would you say that now is the best time to get your O Licence, a cheap unit and a skelly? All I’ve heard for the last 8 months is a shortage of container capacity on the roads

No one knows what’s around the corner… The past few years have certainly underwritten that!
But
There is more chance of getting off to a good start now than there has been for a long time.
It may not last, it may go on for years so don’t take out a ten year lease, but as good a time as any.
.
Why risk the stress and heartache of being an owner driver in a cut throat, over regulated cluster ■■■■ of an industry?
Just go for a max earnings agency job and make hay while the sun shines.
I’m more than happy where I am and have zero plans to go it alone just to point out. My question was a general question of the industry today

Steve landsdown the owner of Bristol city is now worth 172 billion pounds , he co- founded Hargreaves / landsdown financial services
I’d be going down this route if I was going to start a business rather than lorries

What does the research portion of your business plan tell you, you know that’s the bit where you work out how much it’ll cost to run, what your competition is, what the rates pay…
I certainly don’t think I’d be buying a cheap unit if it means downtime cos as the old adage goes “if the wheels ain’t turning its not earning” and callouts and recovery can wipe you out.
