Best sounding engines

hiya,
Have had people say my Toyota Corolla two pedal job sounds pretty good when it’s changing up with the pedal to the metal and that’s plenty powerful enough for me these days, got to admit i think it sounds good with the window down and my “swede” stuck out of it.
thanks harry long retired.

Brian how close could a gardner come to euro 2 emmisions? When the engine was rebuilt 6 years a go it was only 0.2g of euro 2 emmisions, not bad for an engine with no electronics. The liners did not do that bad about 30years!!! :unamused:

Car engine 20v 5-cylinder AUDI QUATTRO so nice.
MOTOR BIKE 180 crank 3-cylinder LAVERDA, OH THE NOTE so evil and nothing was faster at the time.

I agree about the Laverda Brian, I heard one alongside me a few years ago and the sound took me back to yours from 20yrs earlier. That Audi you had was also an unforgetable beast. Ive got a pic of it somewhere I’ll try to find it. kevmac47. Ps it sounds nearly as good as my Jag did. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I think you’ve got him with the emissions Iain, he’s spat his dummy down into the pit again. If he responds ask him about the 8lxb that blew up. :imp: :imp:

Greetings.
A long time ago,the sound of a Drott bulldozer on tickover

I cant fault any of those either, a Drott on full chat was an amazing sound too

I can remember the International 175 track-loaders. Another one would be the International TD15 Bulldozer-I got to drive one when at The CITB College near Kings Lynn although even in '98 I was meant to wear ear defenders when driving it. A Cat 966 or 980B wheel loader sounds nice too. Like modern lorries, plant sounds are a bit “Ginger Beer” now. Our Liebherr shovels wine instead of growl…

Hello,All.
One of the older four headlight model M.A.N.'s with an Eminox exhaust. 900x20.

The best sounding engine ■■

It has GOT to be when after being stuck in the middle of nowhere with wax blocked fuel lines and filters, dead of night, 10" of snow on the ground and falling heavilly still, frozen to the bone and soaked to the skin, in the days before mobile phones and you are already late for delivery, and just before the batteries finally die the engine bursts into life.

That has got to be the "best sounding engine of all !!

Regardless of the make / model of truck…

Steve.

This Foden wrecker has a 525 ■■■■■■■ with twin Eminox exhausts, what a sound.

Best sounding engine,in the world,ever,Foden 2-stroke,then,probably the Power-Plus Leyland in a Leyland Badger(DVK72B)
now,Scania V8,fully loaded and pulling hard!

Foden 2 stroke and an AEC 7.7 with the bit between it’s teeth, nice and smooth.
Oh, and a TS3 with only one silencer box on, you could hear em a long way off.

Brian, heres that shot of your Audi 20 valve, I think of it every time I come out of the Tyne Tunnel !! that thing could GO. Ps my Jag wasn’t bad either.

Villiers 3T two stroke twin in a Greeves moterbike.
