Best Route to Cologne from Dunkirk

I am travelling to Cologne from Dunkirk in December.

I am taking She Who Must Be Obeyed (the commanding officer of the family) on a christmas market trip.

I know it’s a bit early but I like to plan ahead and I’d like to know the easiest or quickest route to Cologne from Dunkirk.

I’d be much appreciative for any advice.

All the best.

Simple

follow the signs for Brussels and once there just follow for Aachen and keep going in a straight line until you get to Koeln

i used to do Frankfurt a couple of times a week.
I found it easier, once clear of the Brussels ring on the E40, take a left at Leuven onto th E314 then straight into Aachen that way (noy so hilly)!

comming back i’d often dive up the E313 into Antwerp and head back that way.

HI are these links any use for you,LINK-1also thisLINK-2; FOUND by using Goggle,
also , many roads lead to room and you will need to be prepared for bad weather, be aware it is law in Germany to have your car fitted with winter tyres etc, when the weather calls for it,even as a tourist ,

I have been to the Christmas market in Koln, it is very crowded, but enjoyable, I would suggest you leave SWMBO to do the shopping while you seek out the Beer Museum, it will leave you more able to cope with how much she has spent, and if you have time go to the Jazz club just a few doors further down the road, even if you are not a jazz fan you will enjoy it I am sure.
