im not from Poole but I drive down there quite a bit but honestly I don’t believe anyone could say what route is best till your there, each has its up’s and down’s. work traffic at rush hour holiday makers at weekends. being on a bike I would say the a338 then a35 as its duel carriage way but there are scamras. in hgv its 6 n to 3’s
I shouldve added that I
ll probably get down there just after lunch as the ferry doesn`t load until 4pm
Drive straight off the dock.
As a Poole citizen, I advise you to take the A31 westbound until you reach the A349. This is halfway along the Wimborne bypass and will be signed Poole, then just follow the signs for Poole/Port.
On the way, when the dual starts at the petrol station move into the right hand lane because at the second set of lights, with Burger King in front of you, yup, your turning right, next set turn left. Straight forward from there into the town, signs will take you to the docks.
Have a good trip.
Can’t help with the route, but if it helps the thought of two wheels, sunshine and sticky tarmac makes me very envious of you Pierre!
Got to agree with Moaster Have a good trip.
It does get busy traffic wise at certain times of the day on the approach so don’t be late!
If arrive early for the sailing, there is a large retail centre called Tower Park outside Poole.
Lots of buffet style eateries.

Spot on, best route by far.

Maybe take some cushions or pillows to protect the bike from the ropes and straps when they secure it on the ferry.
See below
The recommended area for launching is Baiter Public Slipway where permits can be obtained. Permits may also be obtained from the Harbour Office and Poole Quay Boat Haven.
As big vern says straight off the cliff! Thelma and Louise styleeeeeee
