Thats the road I took the F88 - I popped in on my way to Italy- caused a bit of a stir.

Also not many of you would have done it in a truck but driving into Monaco is amazing too especially when you come out of the last tunnel and you look to your right, amazing.
Is this the View you mean?
Yep thats the view I meant, I got stuck in heavy traffic there once but didn’t mind with a view like that although It’s hard to capture it all properly with a camera. I’ve got some photos somewhere too so must
dig them out sometime.
The best route is the one that takes you home after six weeks in a tin box with temperatures up to 100c and 2 ft of fresh snow over the mountain crossings three punctures two large police fines for dodgy indicators on a trailer and lies from every one you deal with regarding loads that are not ready for another 24 hours. Then after a few days at home it’s the road that gets you back in to Europe again. we love it .
Remember the old and the new in the old DDR when it rejoined the west?
bald bloke:
Yeah the simplon was brilliant, we stopped for a picnic and saw clouds floating pass below us, it was like being in a plane.
Hi bald bloke,
I’ve done the Simplon and seen the clouds floating past, sorry but I’ve got no pics of that.
Here’s a pic that I took at the lake at the top of Mont Cenis, free clouds included!!
For me though, the views from either the Europabrücke (Austrian A13) or the Moseltalbrücke
(German A61) are quite breathtaking.
Hi all.I think one of the most beautiful, exciting, and also dangerous roads[especially in the winter]has to be the E6 from Oslo up to Tromso in Norway.
It’s full of forests, tight mountain bends, winding roads, fjords, little ferries, tunnels, and beautiful scenery. It must be one of the most stunning roads in Europe, especially as it’s so long[1500kms]
It must be said that it’s also one of the most frightening roads to drive in the winter.Mike
