Best Route - Gatwick to Poole?

Got to drive a transit style van on Wednesday from Gatwick to Poole in Dorset.
Was thinking of A25/A3/A31/M3/M27 West/A31 instead of A217/M25/A3/M3/M27 West?
Any thoughts on the best route to go?

You could go across the bottom, down the A24, A280, A27, M27, A31 and in.

Leaving Gatwick at 14:00.

Personally, up the M23, M25, A3, A31, M3, M27, A31

Not had recent experience of the A25 but IIRC it was constant towns and not that straight forward.

I did that way from Horsham to Poole on Friday in an artic. No problems at all so a transit should be a doddle.

Pinch-points at Arundel and Chichester, apart from that the southern route is good.

I live in Poole done this route 100s times, the time your traveling I would: Up M23/M25/M3/M27/A31

If i was going to Poole i wouldn’t leave from Gatwick.

At 14:00 I’d avoid the M25 and M3.
The southern route suggested would be best but instead of the A24/A280 come off the A24 at Broadbridge Heath (A264) and pick up the A29 at fiveoaks. Follow the 29 all the way to the 27 and you miss out the traffic at Arundel. Expect Chichester to be a little busy though but that time of day Westbound flows better than Eastbound.
