If you guys & gals could point to a few hotspots for either class 1 or 2, that would be great

Thank you.

The golden…

Triangle of Lutterworth, Rugby and Nuneaton. Plenty of different hauliers and loads of agencies all fighting for your skills.

least thats what their adverts say

Wow! So many different answers available here depending on what type of work you’re looking for. I’ll take a gamble that you aren’t looking to specialise in any particular area of transport and are just looking for a job, any job? If that is the case then I’d say (in my opinion) that you need to concentrate your search around the Rugby/Lutterworth/Crick areas. You’ll find no end of work there for mainly supermarket agency work. Once you’ve settled you can narrow your parameters and go for what you really desire workwise.

Edit to add; the wise man above me ^^^^ with quicker fingers got there first!

Have you tried Jepody?

Anywhere near major population centres and the confluence of major roads, from my own knowledge I will say Avonmouth I cannot think of anywhere else that provides such a range of work, tippers, mixers, containers, supermarkets, waste, parcels, tankers, cars, almost all sectors are covered and Bristol being one of the more expensive cities the pay is quite good.

You really cannot fail, and living on the more civilised side of the border housing is very reasonably priced.

I looked at going back to Bristol once, higher wages , but to get the same house ( 4 bed detached ) would of cost me 100k more , or go from
No mortgage to a 100 k one ( if I didn’t ) use savings .
How many years at a couple of pounds ph more are you
Going to have to do to pay the extra costs of houses etc in
Most higher paid areas
My relative lives in rugby and there house
Isn’t a patch on mine but if you believe
What they had it valued at it’s worth twice mine
Life is about more than just money , though if
I thought my mrs would have ok,d it I’d
Of paid the extra 100k just to see rovers every week !!

Going by style of message op = troll.

Rugby does have high house prices, higher than equivalent houses even as close as Coventry.

It went a bit mental when they started building loads of warehouses (jobs) but didn’t build houses to house the people in at the same speed. Then it got worse after the West Coast Main Line was upgraded and suddenly Euston was 50 mins away effectively making it a commuter town.

Early 2000s I knew loads of lads that were travelling from West Yorkshire to work in the golden triangle of rugby,Lutterworth, daventry, crick etc,
3 actually rented a small house down there to live in during the week, one bought a camper van and slept in that if it wasn’t worth traveling home.
There were all earning big money working for various agencies,at Xmas time they all worked for Royal Mail for the big dollar.
Don’t know of drivers still travel these distances but in them days general haulage firms in Leeds was paying 7 pound an hour in fact it don’t pay that much more now
