We are running a bit low on blankets at work - I asked my boss if we could get some more, but he said he’s having difficulty finding a source. He said that he found a place in China but the minimum order was a container load
Does anyone know where we could get a few hundred for a reasonable price? Thanks!
Army surplus stores tend to buy up and sell them
That’s where I used to get mine
Where are you based? As it migh help us to help you.
I know of possibly one place near Gainsborough lincs who used to wholesale mil surplus.
We used to call it the “rocket site” near a village called Misterton.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Based in Finland, but we come to the UK several times a month in the main removals season (ie summer
) The UK work tends to be centred around the greater London area but really we go all over.
Of course, it’s possible that we could get to an army surplus place, that’s a very good idea and I hadn’t really thought of them to be honest - I was really thinking in terms of somewhere online we could get a couple of bales of them delivered.
regular A/S charge about £12 pr blanket but if your gonna do a bulk buy you’ll get that price down.
You also want the higher wool content.
You might find Dutch A/S have a better quality due to the weather .
as you pass through Europe you want to look at various country’s your passing as you may find a cheaper supplier and you could arrange pick up on route.
These guys should be able to supply them and are fairly close to Central London, ring them first as they may need to order them in.

Removal blankets are not cheap though.
P.S You may find you can sell your old blankets if you put them on Gumtree or alternatively Horse & Donkey sanctuaries normally like them as donations.
If Hunnex & Sons (Box Easy) can’t supply them post back up as I know someone else who can supply them in a similar area.
EBay there’s loads of them on there for a couple of quid each, In various quantities.
You could try, london removal blankets.co.uk the price is on their website.
We always use Haywoods in Leeds - 0113 2304050
Thanks very much folks, you’ve given me some great leads. I found that Haywoods of Leeds have a website too, and I’ve forwarded that and the other websites and suggestions to my boss.
Looks like we will get sorted, thanks again
It may sound daft, but a dog’s home will have plenty of blankets that charities give to them.
Many years since I was in the removals game but at the time Haywards in Leeds were always spot on and it’s nice to see that they are still going.
