One of our drivers-Den was driving between Charlton-Toddington, a small back road N/E of Luton last Friday, going through some bends near the Fancot Restaurant, an oncoming DPD Wagon was overtaking a cyclist on the bend, making Den take evasive action, he slowed down & gave the driver some verbal & hand abuse (like we all would [emoji108][emoji867][emoji6]) incident forgotten-drive on.
Said DPD Driver only goes & phones our office !!!
admitting overtaking PITA Cyclist on a bend, calling himself a "Professional Driver [emoji57] " & complains that Den Abused him, Verbally & with Sign Language. WTF.
I was stood next to Den when our TM spoke to him & we agreed, we would all have responded in the same way, DPD would have got the full treatment from both barrels-■■■■ !
Question- If you Cocked up & someone had a go at you, would you call their Office & Whinge to their Transport Manager [emoji26] ?
For some reason, this has become a major epidemic lately. ■■■■ up, get a blast of the horn, lights and maybe a coffee bean gesture, and then get the hump with it. What happened to keeping your head down. It baffles me

By evasive action I pressume he had to slow down a bit or do some steering input before giving it the bigun abusing another steering wheel attendant.
Both as bad as each other.
Encountering a hazard and making a misstake negotiating that hazard is quite common, the fact that 2 so called pro drivers couldnt handle it without a drama speaks volumes about the pair of em.
Some comfort can be taken that grassing up a fellow damsel over a non event is slightly worse and deserves a total loss of man points.
Hypocrisy Warning! Im not perfect and have been guilty of bad overtaking and giving fist shaking at those who do the same. The problem here I reckon is that the Overtaker is upset at being abused because he cant even see hes made a mistake! Now that is a problem. When Ive made mistakes I like to think that I can see my actions from the other driver`s point of view and can, hopefully learn and improve.

Have your lot got forward facing cameras fitted ?
If you have, download the incident, and send his TM a copy of the incident, a reciprocol knee in the 80110cks…
Yea, we’ve got 'em, but it was such a Non Incident, I don’t suppose they’ll bother with it.
I just highlighted it because of the DPD Fanny ringing up sniffling about being shouted at [emoji22]
Long before I was a lorry driver i was a little late signalling on approach to a roundabout which meant a lorry had to come to a stop, if I’d signalled sooner he could have kept going. What was his reaction? abusive hand signals towards me. I noted his reg and company and told them. My view similar to someone above was that as a professional driver he should have been able to rise above my minor mistake and I didn’t appreciate being sworn at by a so called professional, representing his company whilst driving a company marked vehicle.
As professional drivers sometimes you just need to accept human beings make mistakes and then take a deep breath and rise above it. 30 seconds later it doesn’t matter if no one is hurt or no damage had been done.

This is absolutely correct we should be able to rise above it. I’m sure squealing to his company made you feel better though

Some people don’t appreciate that they are representing a company!
I’ve had a drivers mate give it the large one at another motorist before, and he wasn’t even the one driving!
While it was quite amusing watching him frothing at the mouth and going ■■■■■■■ at this poor woman who made an error of judgement. Once he’d calmed down a little I explained to him that it wasn’t a good idea, as that woman may well now be on the phone to our firm.
He looked a bit sheepish then and was rather subdued for the rest of the day!

Was coming through Aberdeen about 3 years ago, I was in lane 1 in a 40 mph doi g about 35ish, intending to move into lane 2.
I gave plenty of notice indicating, when a car in lane 2 actually accelerated hard to either stop me or try to beat me in, then the lights and blasting of horn started which was ott, uncalled for and basically out of order, as it was the car that attempted a dangerous manouvere, not me.
Anyway on approaching the lights they turned to red, rightly or wrongly I got out to tell him to basically go and ■■■■ himself (in mitigation I had had the day from hell and was not in the best of moods) I approached the car and discovered it was a woman, so I thought …what’s the ■■■■ point, , turned said absolutely nothing to her, and got back in the truck, she overtook me horn blasting again and a hand signal to boot . I just thought Silly Cow, and thought that was the end of it, but no chance as she got my firm’s no. off back of trailer, rang the head depot with a load of lies. Apparently I had ‘‘nearly gone over the top of her’’ (I was in lane 2 before she got within 2 yards of my back doors) and that I had ‘‘got out and agressively verbally abused her’’ (total ■■■■■■■■, I do not set myself up at women…end of)
Anyway my boss at my depot backed me and it all blew over, but in different circumstances somebody else could have lost their job over that lying ■■■■■.

And this is probably why you need a TM who’s been there and done it, rather than some spotty little oik…
