Best night out, a hidden gem

Work time up so shot off the motorway north of Gretna in Scotland.
Dumped the wagon in a small village called Kirtlebridge.
Wow, what an amazing welcome from the lady owner of the Village Inn and the customers.
The kitchen was opened again to cook a great meal, good choice of food from Chinese style and wraps with pulled pork.
The road going out the village can fit a dozen or more artics on a lit road, wide enough too.
So don’t pay out for services, stop over here.
Truck friendly, you could leave the cab unlocked, nobody would touch it.
With an empty trailer, doors shut. No worries.
Don’t park in Marquis business park,24 hour access for council vehicles and no room.

We’ll it was, nice and not well known, then somebody’s put it all over an open forum.

The reason some places are nice, and unspoilt, is there kept quite.

I’m sure the residents would soon take issue with 12 artics parking up every night and no doubt litter being left behind and the road stinking of urine.

I’d have kept that one quiet. Give it 12months and when the residents start a campaign to their local council, there will be signs up saying no overnight HGV parking.

Another one gone :unamused:

That friendly welcome won’t last long now, you’ve probably just screwed it up.

I’ve a few hidden gems around Europe and I certainly wouldn’t share them on here!

Surprised OP hasn’t taken this post down after you all make such a valid point?

Bit late to take it dowm now as the location is imprinted in every truckers mind who does Scotch … :open_mouth:

Be half a dozen flip flops there tonight., Hope the pub starts serving boiled cabbage.

But what was the Mayor’s daughter like?

I wonder how many drivers have or will look at this on Google Earth and now use it

Unbelievable!
Been using this place since the old Kirtlebridge cafe closed and then comes along this numpty to spoil it.
You couldn’t make it up!

Make a mad dash over the dual carriageway to the pub!

Well it certainly isn’t a hidden gem now is it, I would imagine the welcoming committee will not be so warm from now on.

What a cracking display of trucker solidarity at it’s best.

I use this place too. Opened this thread and couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Do the decent thing Toby and ask for your post to be deleted.

As you all say what hidden gem know, make that the last warm welcome you get from the locals, brilliant

What a bunch of miserable counts, leave the bloke alone.
