bendy v non bendy

Iv thought about going back on class 2 multi drop, there was a job advertised near me offering a fair salary for job and knock average 45 hours a week.
But the job entailed a lot of handballing stuff up stairs and in town centres etc and I don’t know if I could take the hassle anymore, plus having had a serious leg injury could I do it day in day out■■?
Think il stay on the box’s…but if a job came up that suited me it wouldn’t matter if car , van or truck I’d take it.

I’ve never seen a stff job that pays more than a bendy one…

Dunno if this is good as we are all on different wages but last month Itook home £1800 with £90 pension already taken out, not incl uding night out money or meal allowances as they are paid separately tax free, hours average 45 but one week had 53 as cpc was on a Saturday
Thats on a stiffy
to be fair we have a good overtime rate starting any thing over 7.5 hours a day.

Too cramped for me which i would now walk off a job if i was given a day cab

Good for you, like I said I’ve never seen one that good (not likely to be advertised anyway). I know some bendy boys who take home £2k+ a month & they’re in their bed every night.

We get sent out on runs in a rigid day cab its a pain in the ■■■ no room for nowt, but that said had 2 days holiday last week 2 rigid runs and 1 in an artic and still took £520 home.

We only do 5 or 6 nights out a month at £25 plus £5.75 meal allowance, I see it as therapy from the mad house called home

Oh your right, this job was not advertised, it was created

Well ive been for an interview/ chat for a job on the mixers earning about 100pound a month less basic than I am now without working weekends but with overtime will take it back to what im on. If I get it will be the first job I’ve had for years with weekends and bank holidays and 10days off for xmas… Over the moon if I get it…

Not worried about doing long days as ill start early enough to finsh early to see my boys

So it got me thinking,

How many of you would hand your bendy keys up for the same wages or a lil less??

A bit of a no brainer really.

For the same wages?

I’d swap in a heartbeat. I drive a w+d. It’s a walk in the park without the trailer.

You rigid lads might have bad days but drive a day in my shoes and you’ll soon enough realise why I get a few more bob an hour. Same goes for artics.

Give me a 7.5 tonner/18 tonner/ 6 wheeler/whatever on a hundred quid less a week than I earn now and I’ll bite yer legs orf :0)

Its never bothered me what i drive its the job and pay and conditions that matter. I currently drive an artic but cover on rigids when needed but would swap in a heartbeat if a better job came up.

If I found a local driving job, one I could walk of cycle to, for around or above (I would prefer more) £300 a week, I’d take it, class one or two.

I’d gladly bend mine round the pylon in the middle of our yard, the mood I’m in right now.

Where are you from?

You can have mine if you want it

Blimey. 300 dabs a week is a bit below par.

At the same time, kudos for being so adaptable.

Never said I was on that. I’m not that well thought of

Sorry NOVE,

I ballsed up on my quotations.

Unless the work was easier then no I wouldn’t. I used to drive a rigid doing stupid amounts of drops and handballing everyday to all different types of customers and although it was invaluable experience I wouldn’t go back to it for love nor money.
