Took a bendy into London for the first time yesterday. Down Edgeware rd, Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner and across Vauxhall bridge to a drop at the Oval. Well I didn’t hit anything got yelled at by some prat in a convertable BMW but I’ll not lose any sleep over that.
It was fun in a strange way but not some thing I would want to do everyday. I wrote every thing down before hand road names and numbers so I wouldn’t have to look at a map. But I didn’t plan the way back I forgot about the one way system around Victoria Station, fortunately I remembered and guessed it. Some of those lanes ain’t to wide. Another bit.in the learnng curve.
Well done, knight! It’s a bit scary in a rigid when you don’t know where you are going, let alone a bendy. I went down last week and nearly got stuck looking for a building site off of high holborn. I found the road, and got stuck behind an illegally parked van. I must admit, when a traffic warden gave him a ticket, I laughed and stuck my thumb up (I did say thumb).
Good story, why is it always BMW’s that cause the hassle
Nice bit of reading knight. Personally London scared the [zb] out of me the first time round as well .
Well done knight, if you did that, you can do anything

I found that London (every so often) used to ‘up the ante’ and get you working/concentrating harder. Made a pleasant change from the motorway boredom!
It’s also one of the few times (in a bendy) you’ll get a London Taxi to stop being a bully/know-it-all ‘zb’.
Well done knight
Unlike many others I don’t mind London… They might zip all around you but at least they stay out of my way and get a move on.
nice 1 knight
i drive class 2 and rather london to brum anyday
I have only done London once in an artic, I had to go to North Wharf Road behind Paddington station. I was still quite new to artic driving then but looked forward to the adventure. Well I had my A-Z and could see my route looked fairly easy. Off the Marylebone flyover and 1st left if I remember right. Well I missed the left turn and it took me 2 hours to get back there. I guess it would be easier to do now though ( bit more experience) anyhow on getting back to the left turn which i took this time, there was a 7 1/2 weight limit bridge. Rollocks to that and straight over it I went. I evetually got parked up and within 30 seconds got a parking ticket. This was about 9.00 p.m. I left it on the window and stayed the night.

I’d say so aswell
All the best
I used to do London 3 or 4 times a week in my rigid, but an artic is a totally different animal…my first time was a council estate in Twickenham delivering insulation…Even now, Im still not entirely sure how I got into that side road without hitting anything!
