Got my Sherlock hat on today! Robert

Thank you, Watson over here…

The invoice concerned dismantling the engine to have major repairs to the clutch (embrayage)
and the customer (Latour Brothers from Namur) was an old established (1850!!!) company out
of the transport and removal branch. See an earlier picture from 1936, marque unknown.

Also unknown is to which lorry the repair was concerned, nor if it had a Fuller-gearbox

Ets.Latour-Frères-Namur-1936.jpg

Probably the pictured lorry is a Miesse as Frères Latour were a long time dealer in Namur-region.

Thank you Robert! Denonville S.A. (originally the entity from Ets. Arthur Denonville S.A. when he started
with Ford, Indiana, Federal, Studebaker etc) gained the role as importer and distributor for Scania-Vabis
in 1949 (not long after Adriaan Beers for Holland did) till 1979 when Scania bought ‘everything’ back for
own control of sales and service. In the mid sixties Ets. Arthur Denonville started with “■■■■■■■ Distributor
Belgium S.A.” for all activities concerning ■■■■■■■ (previous that was with SADENO), White, Autocar and
as we all know by now ERF!

The Belgian firm, Denonville remains an important part of transport history and was being recorded by one of our erstwhile contributors to this thread ‘ERF-Continental’, so just in case the initiator of this thread still peruses this forum; I’ve taken the liberty of transferring two pictures from the ‘Saviem’ thread posted by Patrick (PV83) to this almost forgotten thread. Bringing back to life forgotten things can be interesting! So, Denonville was essentially a truck seller? Did they build their few home-made truck themselves or, as Loheac did, asseble various parts on pre-existing chassis? I guess they were powered by ■■■■■■■■

I don’t know, Froggy. I’ve only just noticed that all the useful information on page one has been deleted so I’ve lost interest, frankly! Robert

Cheers Robert, if it wasn’t for you, I’d most definitely wouldn’t have found this thread…
