Being ltd co driver and insurance

am i coverd the same as working for the agency as paye? should i have a agrement in place stating that i am coverd for all damages on there insurance.

they have asked me to pli

any help would be great.

from what i gather most agencies require you to have PLI. However you need to read the Liability section of the contract very carefully. It may be very vague making you potentially liable for ANY damage. I suggest asking the questions straight and getting email confirmations or asking them to sign your terms of business which state that you run on hauliers insurance which covers you in full from the start till the end of your assignment

IF you put it in the T’s&C’s you gave to the agency when you signed up …

I assume you mean they want you to get your own PLI insurance before they’ll give you any work. (Which you don’t need).
So I hope the rates of pay they give over and above the paltry £1/hr SE will reflect the additional cost incurred by you. IF the rates don’t reflect the costs, walk away.
The more drivers who walk away & refuse to substitute the agys insurance costs, the more of these leeches will go out of business.

Depends on your contract with the agency. You are not an employee but a sub-contractor providing services to the agency. The agency are in effect your customer so anything to do with insurance depends on the contract you got the agency to sign. You did present them with a terms of business which stated they were liable for insurances, you weren’t liable for any losses, they would be required to pay invoices within 7 days and got them to sign it didn’t you?

No? Then you’re at the mercy at whatever they choose to do.

Ltd drivers aren’t covered by the truckers act so if they go bust .u get nada
