Been clamped parkwood estate kent

edd1974:
I challenged them.were. Useless I said look.im 300 miles from Manchester how do I know.
I said o tried a few motorway services bit they were full. All he said was take it up with the council.

What peed me was 2 things was parked up 8 curtains open didn’t close them n go bed to 11 saw there van drive up and down a few times… I asked why didn’t they stop.knock on and so no parking move along. Instead took cowards way at at 0130 and clamped me while sleeping.

Then what anooyed me more wheel clmap was plain yellow ticket looked genuine all had was a number phone up to pay.

All got was a recorded robot and enter your card. Number etc. At 1st thought was a scam someone after my card detils…I googled it and.it wasn’t a scam.number.
But yeah rant over for.now. Gona complain see what happens but probably nothing will.

Only good thing is work paid the 185 into my account so not my money thank god. But is a til off 185 a time.
Told.work said we go there again need paid parking or we stop someware miles away from Kent with no chance of a fine.

At least you don’t work for a shower of ■■■■ that would try and charge you for it.
It’s targeting, it’s victimisation,.and it discrimantive against delivery drivers trying to do their job.
There is no problem caused by you parking there in real terms, they are only doing it for one reason…the money.
Of course they’re doing it the cowards way, that’s how they work.
This should be sorted at Govt level, it’s ■■■■ disgraceful.
Only pleased I no longer go to the arse hole of the country which is Kent.

I hate Kent so much.
Saw a sign Ashford international truck stop so follwed it it’s got there is waste land. Couple fellas on high viz stood on a roundabout…I said where the truckstop they pointed said here it’s been pulled.down 4 days ago.
Said why is there 3 huge sign post them and.directions telling you it’s here.

Kent I’ll be glad when am.out of here and am.never coming back to this hell hole

It’s like all the other types of crap we have to put up with in this job and this country mate, that old adage applies…
‘‘If everybody just stuck together as one and said NO’’. :bulb:
In this particular case hauliers and transport firms,.and refused to deliver anything in that crap hole, including London where everything is anti truck these days.

Unfortunately it never happens. :unamused: but surely enough is enough when we are getting nicked for doing nothing more than our job.

I’d be getting a set of wheel covers, so they couldn’t feed the chain through the wheel.
Was the chain through one or both wheels?

A touch of irony there, they don’t want trucks parking on the street but when one does they immobilize it so it has to stay parked. :unamused:

Top Tip, carry your own clamp with your own lock and key and install when your parked. If any official looking people start nosing around promptly get out and jump up and down swearing and cursing up a storm about them ■■■■■■ clampers. :open_mouth:

Punchy Dan:
Get it cut off but don’t forget to take the evidence away with you .

The clampers will probably have taken a photo of the clamped vehicle and tempting as your idea is, it is a fairly serious criminal offence to remove a legally-applied clamp even by non-destructive means such as picking the lock.

edd1974:
It’s a joke got a delivery about half hour up the road and.cant get there.
Not causing any harm
I’m.from manchester. Can’t see any signs nothing to warn me very rare I come.down this way

Won’t.be coming again what’s the logic. behind it all.

Left no rubbish all am.doing is.my job
Maybe of had.a foerign number plate I’d be fine

The logic is to keep the industrial estates of Kent clear of foreign trucks clogging up every piece of tarmac or otherwise. That estate is around four miles from the motorway yet they still headed for it.it’s surrounded by houses and locals where besieged with the noise from fridges running all night and weekends not helped by a cold store up the road not allowing parking onsite. They can’t let UK trucks park and then just target foreign trucks. It’s well known there must be half a dozen threads on hear alone regarding Kent parking. You are less than 2 miles from Maidstone services as the crow flies. They also ignore the weight limit going thru Leeds village to get there and clog up the bottle neck in the village

It looked a bit flimsy that clamp. My hacksaw I carry would have be back on the road in 5 mins.

And pray tell, how many HGV parking places are there at Maidstone services?

What wheel clamp officer, some scroat must have had it away for scrap, nothing there when I done my walk round checks…

Well, that might work but even if it did manage to get the driver to avoid prosecution for criminal damage I’m sure Kent County Council would just enforce the penalty in some different way.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not on their side, but The Law has never looked favourably on people who stick two fingers up at it.

To be honest, I doubt that would have any beneficial effect in this instance.

Without him trying he will never know if any available

Big pair of bolt cutters or a small battery powered angle grinder and cut it off . Either remove the evidence or throw it over the nearest wall or hedge and deny all knowledge. Asdave said " What clamp ■■" lol

The one which is recorded on the parking ticket notice glued to the windscreen.

It’s a 50/50 innit…

Cutting the thing off and carting it away, will free you to do your days work and earn you and your firm a day’s money. If it’s your own motor then there’s more at stake. This then leaves you wide to open attempted prosecutions further down the line with claims of wilful damage etc. It’s then up to the clamper to persue you for damages and fees.
I’m not a solicitor but, if you destroy only the padlock and free the vehicle that way, as long as you replace the padlock with an equivalent or better and ensure safe return of the entire clamp with a new lock and keys then technically, no harm or loss has been incurred by the clamping firm and accordingly they have no case against you.

But these things are never quite as straightforward as that.

As an owner driver, I’d cut the ■■■■■■ off, as a company man the firm would be paying.
