BEDFORD TM

TTB:
Hi i seem to remember Hunters Of Tantobie running one they always seemed a bit rare in my part of the UK.

I worked for Banner Earth Moving (Darlington) for a couple of years in the early 90’s. he had three 6 wheel tippers they were B,C reg iirc. Banner had shares in the local Bedford/Vauxhall dealer which is why we had them, he’d buy anything at the right price we also had a 4 wheel Dennis tipper. Other than them I can’t remember any other in the North East.

A couple of nice old work horses here, but i doubt if there still about now

my dads old tm.this was a v6 detroit powered one(despite only pulling a single axle trailer lol) and sounded lovely

A467 Heads of the Valleys ,

A customer of mine has a wide cabbed, ■■■■■■■ powered 6 wheeler wrecker it came from somewhere in Birmingham…City Motors or something like that

Pickups Transport in Leeds had half a dozen in the late eighties all ex Ryder Rentals all with ■■■■■■■ engines. I had one after my F10 died although it would fly like the wind and had enough power to pull a house down I didnt like it very much.

It’s a TM cab with a Detroit lump, but it’s actually on a Dodge tipper chassis!

Hi TTB
Hunters of Tantobie did run a TM artic and if i remember correctly it was ■■■■■■■ powered but they were not keen on it as the fuel consumption was not great compared to their Gardner powered ERF and Sed Atki motors.
Cheers
Mick

Hi,
Page’s at Blackhill ran at least two TM’s, six wheeler and a four wheeler on tipper work.
Glendinning’s ran a 4x2 day cab tractor (■■■■■■■ L10) ,ending up as a shunter in either in AEI Birtley or Wavin at
Medowfield

Abrahams had a C reg TM which Tommy Woods drove. It had a wide cab with a Jennings sleeper, I think it was bought off Alan Wharton who used it on Bell Lines work out of Teesport…
