He’says there’s nowt on the A1 other than snow
Punchy Dan:
I have a sprinter pick up on route to the forth rd bridge carrying a plough for them tonight ,Anyone know if he’s best coming back down the A1 which is where he is at the min or try over by biggar to the 74 back to Ashbourne Derbys ? Any info about either route much appreciated
Back down the A1 or along the M8 to Bellshill and down to the Raith then M74. Avoid anything that isn’t a motorway as it’s a mess up here.

Was there a build up of snow and ice on the front? (edit) … Sorry Blue just saw your reply.

If it’s any help, the news has just stated that Scotland’s first ever red weather warning has been issued for the central belt.

Snowing in Auxerre at the moment but at least it has warmed up a bit, now at zero as opposed to the -10 last night between Paris and Orleans
It was strange to see a couple of inches of snow in Central London on my way to Paddington to tip, I got to site at 0730 after amusing myself watching people creep about a three miles and hour on totally untreated roads. A rich borough like Westminster and they cant salt the roads??
Another phenomenon was pedestrians striding along the carriageways instead of using the paths…that were equally as snow laden as the roads, but one good thing is that I noticed the cycling fraternity were behaving much better, they at least slowed down a little before jumping red lights

Should be fun start loading and 01.30 then up to Calais
The man from the BBC pointed out yesterday that while the UK Trans-Anglia rail service had been suspended because it was -2 C, the Trans-Siberian Express was running normally in temperatures of -20 C!

Then definitely be careful and stay safe, you’ll be running up through the zone that’s been put on Orange alert and that A6 is quite a mare!!
Remember also if it gets too bad the Gendarmes will park you up and for me it’s a “Oui Monsieur, pas de problem! Merci, a demain!”
It’s been that cold in Newcastle that some of the girls have even taken to putting scarves on for their big nights out

MetOffice red warning for that area Dan, valid until 1000 tomorrow. They say their models are running in short time so they could extend it. They’re pleading for all journeys to be re considered.
