Be Careful

It is a regular topic regarding overnight parking and with the robbery at Crick recently, but this has just popped up…

TVP Milton Keynes

We’re appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Milton Keynes.

Between the hours of 1.45am and 3.45am yesterday, a lorry driver was parked up outside Magna Park near to John Lewis waiting to unload his trailer.

The driver’s cab was broken into by four men who held him down at knifepoint and then drove him to a layby northbound on the A5 near Caldecotte.

The offenders unloaded most of his trailer into a large van or small truck, between 7.5 and 10 tonnes, and then unhitched the driver’s trailer from his cab.

The offenders kept the driver at knifepoint and drove him in his cab to a layby southbound on the A5 past Little Brickhill before forcing him to walk out into the woods.

The driver’s cab was then set alight and was seen burning at 3.45am and police were called.

The victim, who is 37, was unhurt during the ordeal.

The lorry that was robbed was a 40-tonne Man truck with a white cab and a white and blue trailer and the offender’s vehicle was a van or truck, but the colour is not known.

A large quantity of Bose electrical items was stolen during the incident.

The offenders are all described as white men.

One was between 5ft and 5ft 2ins tall, of slim build and aged between 25 and 30-years-old. He was wearing black clothing with a hood up and a black facemask. He was carrying two knives.

The second offender was between 5ft 7ins and 6ft tall of slim to medium build and aged between 30 and 35-years-old.

He was wearing light coloured cargo trousers, a black jacket and hood with a black face mask.

The third offender was around 6ft tall, of slim build and aged between 35 and 40-years-old and was wearing all black with a face covering.

The fourth offender was between 5ft 7ins and 6ft tall, slim build and wearing dark clothing and a facemask.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jo Hudson of the Priority Crime Team based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was a distressing ordeal for the victim, who thankfully was not injured as a result of the incident.

“I am appealing to anybody who was in the vicinity of Magna Park or travelling along the A5 between Caldecotte and Little Brickhill between 1.45am and 3.45am and believe that they witnessed any suspicious activity to please make contact with police.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from anybody who has dash-cam in their vehicles to please check this and contact police on the 24-hour non-emergency number 101 if it has captured anything that can assist this investigation.

“Similarly, if anybody has been offered any Bose electrical goods or has any information into this robbery, please get in touch, quoting reference number 43200393163.

“You can also make a report online, or for 100% anonymity, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

‘‘The victim 37, was unhurt during the ordeal’’
Aye right,…Unhurt physically maybe, but absolutely traumatised I reckon.
Imagine 4 of these ■■■■ scrotes coming at you masked up and tooled up, breaking into your cab.
I bet that lad will ever drive a truck again, they should string the tunts up by the ■■■■■■■■ if they manage to catch them. :imp:
A lad just out making his living, and being abused by a little firm of pond life.

I’m always fully alert and aware when I bring highly desirable high value stuff back, thing is though it would be a case of…‘‘No need for the knives lads, here’s the keys, let me get my jacket and you just crack on’’.
Not my truck, not my load, not my problem enough to try and defend it, and/or get my head caved in, or worse.
I really hope that lad gets over it,.and that he’s ok.

Gets my vote. No load is worth the grief and if it is then it should have police ■■■■■■.

Better still, let the gaffer drive it.

Again parked in a layby, when will firms learn. Yes I know a large percentage of Lorry parks aren’t safe, but, he could have driven 300yrds and used the lorry park. The MK one, why JL didn’t let him drop the trailer inside I don’t know, but big assumption time, guessing was a lhd, .Again he was less than a mile from Crawley Crossing, not a nice place due to the slope/angle of the parking…

I don’t know but may be these sat nav user will is it possible to have a panic button on the dash or sat nav ect ? I’am not exactly up on modern tech .

You don’t say.

The other fridge driver will be along soon and add his Tuppence worth…

I was informed this morning that B&Q have had two loaded trailers stolen from the Worksop depot, seems that 2 drivers who was previously working for a subby went in with load references for trailers heading Scotland and hooked up and drive out the gate never to be seen again, apparently there’s £0.5M of stock on em, the subby has now lost all the traction work out of there

But the question is… Was he actually parked for daily rest? The article I read just said he was waiting to go into John Lewis. Surely no one in their right mind would Park with expensive electrical stuff on the road of an estate?

Could it have been he was simply there waiting for a booking time?

I would be sacking the security that was on at the time as well

Magna Park…

You won’t be stopped for much more than a couple of minutes on the estate roads before Mr Jobsworth appears in a van telling you to move on.

You’d think…

They’d have trackers on them right?

AFAIK 99% of them do, but these are older trailers don`t have em

Load theft and load security is not something I concern myself with tbh. I once totted up the value of the 26 pallets I had on for Aldi and figured out it was slightly north of 19 pence!

In fact the six pack of beer in my unit fridge is probably a far more valuable target.

Was parked in the bus lane, off A421, commonly known as Fen street, River island oneside JL/waitrose the other, always packed out with floppy’s and others, the road past ironbru down to DHL is private.
