BBC presenter Jeremy Vine Jeremy Vine said he was caught cycling at 16mph in a 5mph zone

Broadcaster Jeremy Vine was stopped by police in London’s Hyde Park after speeding on his bike.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter said he had been caught travelling at 16mph in a 5mph zone.

He apologised after a police officer tracked his speed using a radar gun, but appeared not to agree.

“If cyclists are forced to travel at walking pace, they will return to the roads and mix it with trucks,” Mr Vine tweeted.

Mr Vine posted a short film of the incident using social media app Vine.

He added in a tweet: “When I got to the office @BBCRadio2 and said I was radar-gunned at 16mph on my bicycle, producer said: YOU ARE LIVING ON THE EDGE.”

It’s a bit of an irrational hatred but I too detest the man!

Nothing irrational about it at all - The man is a total plank. As soon as he starts his nasal whining on the radio, I have to either switch it off or change channels, otherwise I end up shouting and swearing at it/him.

Dunno, John Craven and Chris Packham must be in contention. Maybe we could club together with The Farming Forum lot and send them all to cruise on a South Korean ferry, they’d have to travel via Malaysian Airlines flying over the Ukraine to get there.
