Battery upgrade for TomTom One V2

Wondering if it would be possible to transplant the battery from the 510 model (4 hour life) into the One V2(2 hour life)?

as far as i know you cant do it as the batteries are different sizes and voltages the best thing to do would be to go to this site and get one of these itll give me 10 hours on my pda
Clicky

dont worry about it being for the ipaq it will work with virtually anything i hav one of these my self and its a great peice of kit

Edited to shorten the url.

Cheers Alix, hoped you would reply.
Got sent out in a truck today that had the cig. lighter ripped out.
One V2 didn’t last very long, only weakness I’ve found with it.

Thanks for the info alix776  Mine arrived today. Looks spot on. Got it as backup if ever the cigarette lighter is busted.

Just an update on this battery pack I purchased. I charged it up and hooked it up to my tomtom 1 (I made sure the battery was flat in tomtom1) and left it running on demo mode to see how long the tomtom 1 would run whilst connected to it. I left my stopwatch running at the side of it and to my amazement it kept the satnav running for twelve and a half hours none stop. Jjust thought that info may be of interest to whoever.

What voltage is the cigerette lighter in a truck? My tomtom connection lead says it is … input 12/24v Is this ok in a truck or would it burn my tomtom out?

Thanks again, Nige

cheers for the info nige i have the same problem with my tomtom 1-really interested in buying one of these…so you simply charge the battery pack and plug it into your tomtom via a supplied cable(?)and voila 10 hours plus for a 40 quid outlay???Sounds good pal

EDIT-The voltage in your truck is more than likely 24v the tomtom cable should handle it fine as mine has in the past.I have read that it is wise ti start the truck first the plug the tomtom into the ciggy socket to help protect from voltage spikes but im not sure if this is correct as i have had no probs as yet myself
