Yep, for my luck i often have to deliver in a artic to love honey on locksbrook road, which means going through a 3 ton weight limited road because it is a one way. Then coming out the easiest way is turn left onto newbridge road over the 7.5ton bridge then right back onto the A4.
Yeh I go to an ind est at Locksbrook also now and again.
I go there off the M4 into Bath, turn left off the main road in, where it says all HGVs turn left, and past a fire station on left hand side,…is that the same fire station on the route in question or are there more than one fire stations.

Yes mate that is the one. The way i go to locksbrook now is m4/m32, off at the first junction, then ring road until left on the keynsham bypass, then left up the A36 bristol road, until the lights with the new build on your left, then left over Windsor bridge and left again, then left into locksbrook road.

It’s a pain in the arse but driving coaches we now go through Queens Square to get around it, and yesterday doing a pick up from Monkton Combe in a tri axle coach instead of going straight over the bridge we had to go through the centre

Just reading that article you would swear to Christ we were all just passing through on a whim as tourists, and that our journeys were not essential to deliver their goods into their area.

To be fair, I guess that over 90% of trucks driving over the bridge/through Bath, are only driving through, rather than delivering in Bath.
The residents need to be told, that that is what happens if you live next to a major trunk road. And that they could have solved these problems, completely, if they had completed the Batheaston bypass with a connection to the A36, just south of Bathampton.
Nothing to do with the weight limit but as of next year Bath is going to be a low emissions zone charging £100 a day for HGVs to drive through so will have to use other routes anyway.

Yep, and that one will be a kicker, because it means you cant go from Bristol via the A4 to the A36. The only real route will be the A350 from M4j17. Or from South Bristol, take the A420 to Box, then the A365 to Melksham to pick up the A350. And then everything will have to crawl through Westbury… or Southwick… I can see some frantic lobbying in the next year
