Bath house prices

The wife’s been offered a job near Bath which would mean a huge change for us so we’re having a look around and talking it over. Can anyone tell me if this http://www.chappellandmatthews.co.uk/forsaleoffice/Bath/2025 pretty much sums up house prices around there?

Cheers

depends where you want to live … for prices like that

That is the price for Bath for wealthy Londoners that own three houses or more for the weekend.
It is cheaper in Westbury,Warminster,Frome or Trowbridge and onky a half hour drive to Bath.
Bath has MOD personel and the Government helps them move and maybe pay for their house in Bath.
Forget Bradford on Avon.High prices.
Radstock is quite reasonable, not far from Bath.
All above towns have good bus and train links.
Devizes is a great place to live.Rolling hills and a canal towpath with flight locks.

Depends what you call near Bath , wouldn’t want to travel through the city twice a day . Be more specific .

She’ll be working in Weston.
But thanks, toby1234abc, that’s all useful stuff.

Weston is near the Royal United Hospital at Bath.Flats are not too expensive if share with trainee Doctors or nurses.

Another option is buying a new or second hand canal boat from Hilperton or Devizes marina.Move the boat every few weeks or pay more for a permanment mooring.
I have seen reasonable two to four bed houses at Westbury.
Keynsham is a short commute to Bath or the East side of Bristol.

Have a look here , you can put in what ever info you want.

I’d go towards Marshfield/Pennsylvania/Tomarton that way you don’t need to drive though Bath everyday to get anywhere, as you will get fed up with that very quickly. There is a nice road off the A46/A420 that goes past the racecourse and down a steep hill into Weston.

Longwell Green is only 15min to Weston (Bath) there’s a bus route too and regular. Good cycle path routes with pubs on route.
Longwell Green has some really good schools covering all ages .
also if you have kids there’s plenty of activity’s in the area scouts, cadets, judo, football, even a rowing club in Saltford. etc.
Local supermarket, building supplies B&Q wicks etc takeaways Garage repairs tyres etc, Dr’s , Dentists, nature walks close to the country with good bus links to both Bristol and Bath . Keynsham railway station if you want to go further a field for the weekend. also local are, Cinema, bowling and leisure centre (swimming pool /Gym)…

There is very good cycle path from Bristol to Bath on a tarmac road by the river and canal.
Bitton has the steam train railway that is still in use.
You can cycle from Bristol to London on the tow path.

That’s the one I was on about toby plenty of pubs on route

Two good pubs in Kelston by Bitton. And on the bike track ,you can cycle to Chew Vallley lake or Cheddar.Stunning scenery. No cars to bother you on quiet lanes.
If on the tow path near Bradford on Avon, Avoncliffe has a waterfall and old mill on the river.
The pub has had Hollywood actors pop in for a pint of real cider or ale.
Gary Oldman and Kevin Spacey have their photos signed on the wall.
At the bottom of Brass Knocker Hill, there is a good cafe and rental shop to hire motor boats or canoes/kayaks at reasonable prices.
At Bradford on Avon there are two good pubs where the canal meets the main road.
One is owned by an ex Bristol fireman.Gets packed on sunny days or holiday times.

Great advice everyone, cheers.
Have to say the narrowboat idea is very attractive, going from one pub to the other…

There is very good Thai and Chinese restaurant in Devizes called Zumi.A bright orange sign on the front.
Opposite the duck pond.
Booking essential at weekend nights.
On the narrow boat you can have a beer while driving it.Olympic sized swimming pool at Bath University which is open to the public and a huge gym.Sports cafe by the pool.Great stews and healthy food.
