Bath CAZ goes live today

“Bath has launched the first charging clean air zone (CAZ) outside London, today.
From midnight, non-compliant vans, taxis and minibuses will be charged £9, while non-compliant trucks and lorries, and coaches and buses face a daily charge of £100. Private cars and motorbikes will not be charged.” fleetnews.co.uk/news/fleet- … from-march

Bradford is planning to implement something similar shortly. That should help see off most of what businesses remain in the city centre then.

Trumped!

Oxford isn’t going “low” nor even “ultra low”, but “zero” emissions.

It wouldn’t surprise me if all the upcoming local authority emission zones across the country are put into stricter CAZ classes, ClientEarth have mounted legal challenges in the European court of justice against the government because the UK has broken air pollution limits for the last ten years :open_mouth: airqualitynews.com/2021/03/04/b … ution-law/

ClientEarth has just won the case against Drax power station who have cancelled what was to be Europe’s largest gas fired power station from going ahead. clientearth.org/latest/late … ant-in-uk/

Blimey! Bath are now rolling out 20mph limits outside of their CAZ on main roads that carry through traffic. :open_mouth: transport-network.co.uk/Bat … oads/17852

I came through Bristol the other day, there is the same sort of crap going to be going on there in next couple of weeks. :unamused:
Let’s stop ■■■■ ing about here, none of them in stark reality give an absolute flying ■■■■ about pollution, (but even if they did, engines are clean burning as they have ever been since day 1.) it’s all about the same old same old,…collecting money.

Are they forgetting that the ONLY reason we go through these places is to provide a service and cater for…THEM !.
We aint on a touring holiday ffs., we have little or no choice going 5through their places, in order to do our jobs.

All trucks and delivery vans should be exempt from ALL of this dog ■■■■. :imp:

More & more local authorities seem to be heading that way with Brighton announcing it’s going a step further with stricter emission limits :open_mouth: . Wood Burners on the chopping block? “One such action being considered is the formation of a citywide smoke control area by 2023 to reduce the amount of smoke from chimneys. This would make it against the law for homeowners and tenants to emit persistent smoke from a chimney”.

All leftie council’s will do the same, we used to go Christmas shopping in Bath and spend a weekend and monies doing so, not any more…
