Bastard fucking job

Bluey Circles:
I loved the job in the beginning but absolutely hated everything about it in the end and when I could see a way to get out I took it. But for reasons I don’t understand I now miss it, must be in the blood or something hence me hanging around in here. Just tonight when I was out on the bike a grain lorry passed me and I could have just swapped him then and there. Ten years till my pension kicks in so I still have time for another go, or may be it would be a huge mistake as I’m never going to recreate my best days tramping in my 143. I think the hurdle of doing the dcpc has been a bit of a god send for me, quite a commitment and expense to go through it and without it I can’t make any completely mad on the spur decision and jump back in, I just know it would be a mistake!
Meanwhile I’m enjoying being retired and enjoying my time exploring the borders on me push bike - LOL

Aye, been off the road nearly 10 yrs having changed career at 45.
Still love trucks and miss driving them but don’t miss the job. In fact reading all the carp you guys have to put up with now I REALLY don’t miss the job.
Wouldn’t mind a shift in an auto trans 500+ Volvo though just to see how the driving experience has changed.

. Yeah I know you cant do that after you’re 20 so they say,

Just not true. I know a fair few people changing careers at all different ages. These days it’s the norm. No such thing as a career for life now.

19 - Royal Navy. 26 - retail management. 30 - camera sales and shop manager. 32 - mushroom farm worker. 33 - more camera sales. 35 > 40 - full-time student (Uni). 40 - Teacher (Maths). 53 - handyman. 54 - lorry (big van) driver. 55 - HGV (PROPER) driver. Various p/t stuff, operated/owned a Robogeddon unit, volunteering, other stuff I’ve forgotten about. Oh, I had four jobs at the same time for a while when I was sixteen.
Can’t wait to see what I do next!
