Might be an irate Spaniad and a rotten load of fish if i did that.
Plus i dont rate Castets, they are some better ones but not open on Sundays, also now Castets is also closed i think

It’s open till 3 on Sunday, and if need be there is a pizza restaurant in the village,
The couple of times I stopped there at the weekend was good, the showers leave a bit to be desired but food is spot on and you can keep filling the wine jug up

Reading through that lot it looks like i can transit the A8 past Bilbao Westbound on Sunday.

If it´s fresh fish no bans apply anyway

if frozen it depends on the time of day

depending on traffic you may find a ban in the mornings from just before the tunnels until the border with Cantabria (not usual at this time of year) and then again in the afternoon and evenings on the return trip.

You can not now follow the A8 through Bilbao it is off limits unless for access so you have 2 choices either go round on the ring road via the airport and back on the A8 after the bridge or if you carry on towards Bilbao on the A8 just after the tunnels you will see the new stretch of ringroad signposted but it is a toll road

There are 5 more pages for Spain if you want them :unamused:

Be a ■■■■ sight easier if the Spanish Fishermen fished in their own waters, poor old Klunk could then pop down to his local for a pint before putting his feet up on a Sunday afternoon, instead of driving all the way down there

castets is not open on a sunday anymore since it changed owners,
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75345&hilit=castets+sunday
and if you are entering spain there is no ban in effect on a sunday only if exiting you can’t enter the basque country to head for the border and wait for it to open

I wAs only there about 6 months ago, oh well sorry for the duff info.

Have all the coppers been sacked as i have only seen three gardia seville stopping trucks or was it just luck.
Irun-La Coruna-Vigo-Aguilas-Valencia-Nules-Irun and only 3 smokey, and no weighbridges open.
I got fined 90 euros in France 107 km :open_mouth: on the N137 south of Rennes (80kmh) i was lucky paying 90e at that speed

Agree with you Newmercerman

Home tomorrow afternoon and off till wed, so time for some of the above]

Also i found a scenic parking area with all night security at Ribadeo, just before the big bridge over the water, but make sure the curtains are well drawn

It’s clearly signed Klunk, several times from a fair way away in both directions

The Peage just lobs you up and around Billy, through a few tunnels and IIRC costs 6 or 7 Euros or something trivial like that. I used it last week no bother

As for the rozzers, I only saw one lot pulling stuff into the Shell at Gorzamo near Santander. I did see unmarked radar cars at the bottom of most of the big hills and tunnel entrances all the way to Gijon and back though :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

maybe you were lucky as your route didn’t take you via seville to see any guardia seville    (sorry couldn’t resist)
they are operating more unmarked cars now to catch the speeders, glad you had a good trip shame about the money grabbing gendarmes though :imp:

■■■■, I quite like a nice lady in a basque
No good going there for the weekend then
