What do people think about Barron Wood?? good bad or indifferent
There’s been a few threads on the owner driver forum. I done a bit for them works easy enough moneys there every week but you won’t make much money doing it.
We used to back load for them all over the place at Kirks. Always thought they were just one of those companies that sorted reloads. Don’t know anything else about them
will be running top weight all the time, payment terms are work week 1 paid week 2, money is always there, no worries on that
i know someone who is doing well on there, been on there for a long while now, but, then again, i know quite a few who don’t earn any money on there
they are good if you just want the odd back load
but, be warned, once you do just one job for them, they will call you sometimes 3 or 4 times a day asking if you have a vehicle in whatever place
I covered for a owner driver for 1 week he was subbing for them,
1, Nice enough blokes in the traffic office
2, Not much waiting or mileage inbertween jobs
3, most of the work i did was r.d.c. work
4, In the week i did it i only run light ish weight once with biscuits out of wakefield to iceland swindon
5, Im not one for getting up at the crack so we had a arange ment 7to8am starts and i use to finish 21/22.00 so you will work 14 to 15 hours a day
