Those barriers are clearly sectional. However despite being catapulted into the opposite carriageway - surely dangerous, they did seem to dissipate the energy from the 2 trucks.

Wouldnt think so, the article I read (but cant find) was about wire barriers being installed instead of a biker friendly alternative.
The John Lewis crash on the M1 earlier this week proved the value of concrete barriers. If that had been a steel armco, there is little doubt that the truck would have crossed onto the very busy Southbound c/way and the consequences are unthinkable.

JL partnership don’t really carry anything heavy heavy now do they, I’d like to see what happens/who wins when a fully laden 44tonner hits that concrete barrier…!?
