Perhaps they should stop ■■■■■■■ about with 17-25 year olds & raise the test age to over 25.
Well that would be me out of a job then
Sorry Mate, get your stuff out of the wagon. Lol.
so why 25? all i can see, is the “17-25 yr old are most at risk …blah blah…” will get changed to “25-33 yr old are most at risk… blah blah” etc, it would only move the problem, not cure it…
i passed my test when i was 18 back in 2009, now sadly i became a part of the statistic of “accident with in 6mths’ of passing test”, but that not the point.
after that accident, i had only passed my driving test, no other after test training. which i acted on.
with in 6mth’s i had sorted out my pass plus, i found that to be usefull for getting experance on a motorway with a driving instructor.
i then found my local police force were offering a session on the skid pan at the police HQ for free, had a good laugh and fun testing the limit’s of fwd and rwd cars, and learnt a lot that helped me in the following winter.
and then instead of going to court over the accident, i was offered a place on a driving improvment course, which i took and came out as a greatly improved driver.
after each of them part’s, i found that i was more relaxed behind the wheel and my mpg had also improved aswell.
what we need instead of “you have passed you test the road is your’s” is a more througher training, a session on the skid pan, watch a few horror clip’s of young people having a crash like this → http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I54mlK0kVw (warning graphic) and more post test training on motorway (look at ■■■■■■■■■■■■ driver’s, most of the people on there struggled on the motorway…), what about a session in a car simulator, looking a poor driving condition’s snow ice dark etc…
i think in sweden, it take’s 2yrs to pass the driving test, over here the pratical side can be done in 7day’s flat, that’s only good for one person, that person is the one getting the money…
