Flip=Flop is Netherlander

You, are an idiot. Nederlanders don’t wear flip flops. We are known by our willow based footwear. … you on the other hand, are pretending to be a “flip flop”. And failing badly…

Someone educate me, what the frig is a flip flop…

steering wheel on l/h side

That’s settled then. I am a flip flop. Identity problem sorted. !!

There are many uk drivers who refer to the the eastern bloc drivers as Flip Flops…thats mainly because they are uneducated, they are drivers like you and i are, regardless of where you come from. Agreed they do wear slippers or open toed beach wear, when driving the long distances they often do, but still carry steel toe capped boots, trainers, and the necessary PPE…Many of the uk distance drivers also wear comfortable driving attire…although there are the odd ones who wear rigger boots with shorts in the summer months…along with the Egg, tomato, beans down the front of their vests…just to look the part. and to say that someone is a flip flop just because his steering wheel is on the wrong side, is absolute bonkers, and shows what a brain they have, or has merely copied someone else and jumped on the band wagon.

Well said Bob

There is a fair chance the driver was probably desperate for a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ late at night, in a foreign country with pathetic amounts of proper truck parking & doesn’t know the area.

I sympathise to be honest.

I’d like to see the members of this forum learn a foreign language and spent 2 weeks away from home and family. (Before you say they don’t learn English, I find they know enough to get the job done. How much Polish/Romanian/German/Dutch/French/Spanish do you know?) Not saying I could, or would want to, but there we are.

I don’t do European work, never have done, the reason is I do not speak a foreign language,so I do not tolerate European drivers coming here who cannot speak English,if I was doing euro work I would work hard to learn the languages of various countries,if they come here they should do the same, simple as that,i don’t disagree with what you say as there is nothing really stopping me from learning, but I think it would make life a lot easier for Europeans if they took the trouble to learn our language,i had a Hungarian driver shove paperwork in front of me asking for directions,i asked as best I could if he spoke English,no came the reply,so I just walked away saying no point trying to explain to him

not what I have seen,we have at least 4 euro drivers come in to our place every day, most wear slipper type shoes or flip flops,no hi viz, nothing, totally against all health and safety,i will say its up to management to enforce it but they rarely do,but at the same time these euro drivers should know better than to wear what they do in a work enviroment,if their toes were crushed by a forklift or pallet they would not get sympathy from me

Nule !

I have worked all over with foreigners and most of them had at least learned enough of the English language to be understood while I had none of theirs and on that note (Carryfast’s saying) English is the worlds universal language so why now the need for us to learn another of so many we now encounter ■■?

As the weather is crazier year after year its good for people to keep flip flops in their backpack :grimacing: :grimacing:
Nice and sunny in Bulgaria today up to 29C, now tell me, if you were here wouldn’t you wear pair of flip flops

There is a point of learning foreign language if you don’t haul into foreign land, I don see the point of Brit learning German language if he/she never goes to Germany. If the person wants to enrich their language skills ok but other then that its pointless.
On the language issue, guys is there a huge/big or minor difference between American and British English? How do you look at someone who speaks with American accent?

Due to the quality of the stunning Bulgarian females if I was there I would definitely be in a nice pair of flip flops.

Unlike a missunderstanding in Thailand where I found myself in a flop flip.

I picked up a bit of German from watching old world war 2 films.
“Vot is yur name?”
“Ve hav vays of making you tok”

Hahaha I did the same with Russian and German, from war movies.
But I think its not gonna be a good idea for me to go for a delivery in Germany and to shout “hande hoch”
One of the first thing a Salvadorian colleague thought me in US among driving lorry was cussing in Spanish :grimacing: On that note Im multilingual
