Barca Tunnels

Now this week, I needed to get from Blanes to Mercabarna a bit sharpish. So I head down the C32 and into Barca that way. I know off these tunnels and we ain’t supposed to go through them etc but…
As I came into Barca on the C32, I saw the signs for the Ronda Del Litoral or the Ronda De Dalt. So I followed the Litoral route and of course, I eventually came upon the sign (right at the very start of the tunnels) saying there was a 28 ton and a 12 metre limit on the road. So I run up the slip wondering what to do and as I am going round the roundabout, I look down and notice there are all kinds of artics going thro!!! I went round the roundabout and double checked they weren’t just 20 foot boxes but no, there were full length trucks going thro. So I decided to ‘go with the flow’
So what is the score about the Tunnels■■? I got through ok and there were no problems. Are we allowed through or not?? Is there a ‘special time’ when we can get away with it?? Do any of our regular Spanish chappies have any info?? Is it one of those, you can go through but don’t get caught jobbies?

if VAS is around he will more than likely
give you the correct answer that you need
as he lives and works out of Spain,

And Vas at the moment is on his way to Venice,as he has just rang me up to brag about his new motor :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I can also help a bit with this one. There is a restriction in force in the tunnel in both directions but it is widely (always?) ignored. I always use the tunnel to and fro the ferry terminal and have never had a problem but, in theory, you could get pulled.

The reason for the ban is the double bend in both tunnels which are a bit tight for an artic without getting into the other lane.

David

Thanx for that info, David. So it seems to be ‘ok as long as you don’t get caught’ which will do for me lolol

What David says is correct.
Depending on the time of day I have used them and yes it can be a bit tight.
Up till now I have not been caught so cannot say what the price is for such indulgence.
