the firms site is quite good and looks okay
Barbours, pay about 24,000 a year, carry mostly whiskey and paper to France, and bring wine back.
Apparently a good firm to work for, you have to go casual for a while untill a permanent job comes up.
You will musually find them at Portsmouth docks on Sunday evening waiting for the Le’Havre boat or somewhere round the channel tunnel.
Very rarely go away for more than 6 days, most are back by thursday night or early friday morning.
They run some old tackle tho, not up to the job much, you may have to drive one of these old sheds!
I would love to drive one again, but…er…could you get it down first please
From an outsiders point of view they seem like a good bunch… I burst an airline and went into there yard (Stirling) and asked to borrow tools to fix my own line, they ended up giving me one as long as I returned it… They seem to run near new Daf & scanias, all 4m trailers from what I seen also… There own garage as well so guess any repairds etc needingdone GET done… Infact there SHUNTER (02 DAF) is newer and better than what I currently drive on the road…
i tried them for a job in leeds but they said it was just an office althought they have a yard full of trailers.
