Banned for 18 months

Silver_Surfer:
I’m not arguing that he shouldn’t be banned and heavily fined, i’m just saying all this talk of sending him to prison is a bit ott.

A 6 month ban and 2 grand fine would be ample in my opinion, lesson learned. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. We don’t live in a police state last time I checked. Ok he was a tad exuberent and let his impulses get the better of him but i’m sure he pays his taxes and is an otherwise up standing and law abiding member of society.

He was going fast in a straight line with no undertaking or tailgating in broad day light on a good road. He probably wasn’t thinking of the children though.

He wasn’t shown to be undertaking in the clip but the article stated he had been.

Waddy, how the hell is he going to hit anything side on when everything is going the same way and there are no turns across the traffic. Great argument, you might as well use the one that if hereversed into a coach at this speed, all the passengers (not forgetting the children) would have died. Regarding the 156 mph, where did he do this speed? The highest I saw was less than this and the police car caught him up rapidly whilst doing it. Still daft and deserved a slapping though.

You’ve obviously never seen someone lose control and their car spin round, that’s when it happens. It’s called the unexpected.

in many parts of germany there are no speed limits, so what he did would have been ok.
but this is the uk, where people like most of you lot play right into the hands of our up and coming police state.

Ahh, now I see. You can’t go fast in case someone else spins their car and you hit the side of it, right, I get it now. Good argument… :unamused: Only slightly flawed by the fact that to spin your car would normally mean you have a fair amount of momentum yourself and even if you did ‘spin’ your motor, the momentum would keep it going pretty much in the same direction… unless of course you have some F1 tyres on it.

Depends on the cop you get doesn’t it. When I lived in Towcester I was driving down the A5 in Pottersbury (50mph limit) and I was doing 82 according to the cop who stopped me, he words went something like this … " I know you drive an Audi and it’s a lot safer to do high speeds in than others, but keep it down in future because people in less sfe vehicles may get the idea it’s safe for them to drive at high speed, this is just a warning sir"
He then let me go

Bet the geezer in the black car doing 93mph for 8 seconds, ( in front of the bike), was cacking himself for a minute,
untill he/she realised it wasnt their speed that was about to be frowned upon
