I’m desperately trying to find out information and photos of a pair of old Leyland Bisons that were apparently owned by the bank of England for transporting money. The cabs were plated up/armoured and were fitted with air conditioning units in the roof. Both registered on W plates, anyone remember them■■?
Seen this on fb, but I think you probably know about it already: c1.staticflickr.com/9/8321/8053 … e736_z.jpg
The Bisons looked normal apart from the special glass. they had a flat split windscreen the side windows was quite small
and also armered with a windscreen wiper. their was a aircon unit on the roof.i think they run on big tires maybe 1200s

Yeah, I already know about this. This is what triggered me to find out more. I imported a Bison from Malta, when it was re-registered on its original plate it came back as DBK 610W. Mine has now received a standard Ergo cab and been shortened to the 23’7" tipper spec chassis.
Could be now thinking they belonged to Portals the banknote printers of Overton Hampshire running for the bank of England?
