Last year I was off sick for November/ December and part of January, therfore I was only paid sick pay (ssp) as there were some bank holidays over christmas am I entitled to these as days off in lieu? as I ws not paid for them.

That might fall to your contract (of employment) in regard to how much holiday you get contractually versus the statutory entitlement. Although, to be asking about it six/seven months after the event might also cause an issue.
There was a ruling recently that time ‘lost’ to sickness can be reclaimed/retaken.
you are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks (28 days) of annual leave per year for full time workers (pro rata for part time)
Your contract will inform you of when the holiday year starts and finishes - typically Jan to Jan or Apr to Apr
You cannot be on annual leave if you are on the sick
