Banjul,Gambia.

Anyone been there, bumsters on the beaches, poaching for cash, hassle or not, weather advice and mosquitoes?

Yes, you will get hassled everywhere in the Gambia as soon as you leave your hotel. People constantly offer to be your guide and in the end it’s best just to pay one the money he wants, then he will just follow you around silently and other people stop bothering you because he would just shoo them away/ beat them up etc.

I took this pic in Banjul.

As for weather advice, the Gambia is generally hot, being in the middle of Africa. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I go every winter and stay in the atlantic hotel which changed name last year to the conrinthia i think.

Once you tell them to foxtrot oscar you’ll be fine.

Bumsters ?

Just ignore them, to be fair if you go on holiday to any third world country you get them. It’s part an parcel of taking a holiday in such a place, the only difference between say there and the Canaries is that they don’t sell printed T Shirts

Bumster are chancers that are after money for anything,a guided tour, and so on.Young men that prey on wealthy single women to obtain work permits then dump them.

Weird ! If they are wealthy but still single there must be a reason for this so the ‘bumsters’ are more than welcome to 'em.
Ever thought of taking up a hobby Toby cos you have far too much spare time on your hands

The women are not particularly wealthy, they only give them a few quid for services rendered, some of them need rendering and the others are sun dried like old prunes
