Anyone remember Banbury Buildings, main depot between Adderbury and Ahyno, and another on the Oxford Rd, Ryton opposite Roots/Chrysler/Talbot/Peugeot, Alot of us started on there in the 60’s and 70’s drove my first truck down the M1 on there when I was 16.
Incase you can’t place them, they ran Albion artics and Leyland Badgers with the LAD cab then moved on to Leyland Lynx, Buffalo and Badgers with the Ergo cab, Green and Grey.
Dieseldog6 - Wer’nt they part of the London Brick Co and then changed to a Brown livery
A mate of mine that came to work on the M/E along with me was Barry Critchlow who used to work for Banbury Buildings. We were working on Brit European 1976.
Barry was a big lad, only did one trip with him, never saw him again.
Lemonmouth… it did become part of London Brick in the late 70’s after I left, they did have brown and white F7’s after that.
Bestbooties… The name rings a bell, but I can’t put a face to him.

Blinkin’ 'eck Ian you look like a couple of Bic pens in that photo, I bet it ain’t like that today though !
By the way as a matter of interest I expect most of you know of the company
H. Young Transport Ltd. of Southampton ( & East Kilbride). Well John Young, as he liked to be known, actually started out as an owner driver for Banbury Buildings. He had an old BMC 4 wheeler back in the early 60’s and had been known to be running up and down peoples garden paths at midnight delivering concrete coal bunkers and sleeping in the cab all week. John and I had worked togeter previously to that on Monro’s.
I can’t say I recognise Barry but isn’t there a red Scania running round somewhere with Barry Critchlow on it?
my father-in law, eric jones, worked on banbury blds about that time, does the name sound familiar?
